Biography

Maria "MJ" Jordan, formerly known as Maria Wills, is a multi-talented Media Maven and Event Maestro hailing from Prince Georges County, MD. Her journey in the world of entertainment began at the tender age of fifteen when she embarked on a career as a model and actress. Her very first photoshoot catapulted her to the cover of Mazza International Magazine, marking the inception of her remarkable career. On the theatrical stage, she graced the legendary Lincoln Theater in her debut play, "Common Realities."

Maria's thirst for knowledge led her to Drexel University, where she delved into the intricate realm of the Music Industry. Her studies not only equipped her with a profound understanding of the music business and also honed her management and business acumen.

While pursuing her education, Maria founded "Self-Explanatory Productions, LLC," a thriving event-planning company. At just eighteen, she orchestrated her inaugural fashion show, which served as a platform to raise awareness for the St. Jude Hospital for Sickle Cell Anemia at the prestigious Pennsylvania Convention Center. Throughout her journey, Self-Explanatory Productions organized events benefiting noble causes such as The Lung Cancer Foundation, Women in Transition, Families First, The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, and The Black Dolls Foundation.

In 2006, Maria relocated to Atlanta, GA, aiming to expand her brand. Here, she ventured into radio, initially as the host of "Girl Power Hour" alongside Jae Nash. This experience paved the way for her to create her own show, "Afternoon Tea" (ATR), which aired on REAL 1100am and IHeartRadio. ATR garnered a substantial 110 million active users in the second-largest Urban Radio market, and it boldly tackled challenging topics with renowned celebrities including Robert Ri’chard, Kandi Burruss, Travis Cure, Brad James, Nicci Gilbert, and Monyetta Shaw. Maria’s career also featured insightful conversations with Jada Pinkett-Smith during a Red Table Talk Live event in Atlanta, GA, and Marjorie Harvey at her "Girls Who Rule the World" event.

Expanding her creative horizons, Maria Jordan proudly added "published author" to her illustrious portfolio with her debut children's book, "The Secret Keeper: Perfect the Way You Are." Inspired by her daughter, Juliana, this book empowers young readers to confront bullies not with violence but with confidence and kindness.

Beyond her artistic pursuits, Maria is a freelance media professional providing Event Production, Project Management, Program Development, and Booking services to businesses and organizations, including the esteemed Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation.
